Hinaleis 1st Christmas

MERRY CHRISTMAS 2009!!

To save time and because they are my new favorite thing here is a slide show of Hinaleis 1st Christmas. We woke up at 7am and went to open presents. She didn't really know what was going on and she kept trying to take her hat off but everyone else got so into Christmas and were really excited to show Hinalei how cool it was. She got heaps of clothes and I loved buying presents for her and Joe. I got Joe like 5 NZ t-shirt so he can look totally like he went all NZ nuttie. My mum has been treating Joe to heaps and heaps of NZ food and I am sure he has finally put on a little weight. Hinalei is so different! She is almost walking, she pulls herself up on everything but is still my little snuggle muffin. Oh how I love her!

We had a small and simple Christmas with just our family with Joe and it was so wonderful. I cried later in the day realizing I will be going back to Hawaii because I have truly loved being home so much! I am so excited for the New Year!

Gingerbread Creations

In the spirit of Christmas we decided to decorate Gingerbread creations, I say creations because we did not have any Christmas cookie cutters so there are circles, ovals, suns, rhinos and whatever miscellaneous cutters we could find but it was so much fun and they still look and taste delicious! Enjoy and be very very envious!!!!

My Beautiful Little 10 month old.

She is 2 months away from being 1 year old. Where has the year gone. I can't believe how much she has grown just on our holiday. She is standing up on her own, walking with her little push toy and cheeky as ever. She grows into a little person each day and I marvel at the wonderful little person she is becoming. She hates and despises all baby food but loves to eat off anyone else's plate. She has stopped nursing through the night and loves to sleep on her belly, something she has never done before. She hates to sit still for pictures now and has this cute little crinkled nose smile. She has 5 teeth and I had to wince my way through two weeks of being bitten while she adjusted. All is good now. I look forward to her First Christmas and then her birthday. Oh what fun it is to be little Hinaleis mum!

The Spirit of Christ.

Such a wonderful message to remember the true meaning and reason for the season.

Picture with Santa!

Hinaleis First Christmas and we wouldn't be doting parents without getting her picture with Santa. She wasn't afraid of him at all but didn't want to smile for the picture taker either. This was the cutest little pose we could get from her, but it reflects her personality so well that I love it!

So soon...

After 1 month and 7 days without my husband
I am so excited for this Sunday.
He will be in New Zealand in 4 DAYS!!!
I know that Hinalei will be so happy to not try reach
through the skype to touch her papa.
I love him and I am so grateful that he let me come home early
to be with my family.
You don't appreciate the friendship you have built together
until you are apart.
Love you Joe.
See you in the long white cloud.

Fun with the Aunties

Last Saturday Hinalei and I jumped on a bus and headed up to Auckland to spend the week with my sisters before they move home on the 13th. It has been so much fun being in the city and also eating out at some fabulous restaurants. Last night Hinalei took some pictures with the aunties and also we found that she loves to bop to the beat of "I can transform ya" by Chris Brown. So cute!!
