11 day countdown!

So my precious little girl is going to be 1 in 11 days. Yes! 11 short days. This time last year I remember being so jealous because Renee already had Nira and I wanted to have Hinalei so bad. I remember going to the doctors and being told I wasn't even dilated!!! Little did I know what that would eventually mean....haha.
However in honor of the 11 days I am going to do like a countdown each day. One day for each month she has been here.
So for the 11th day I am going to mention 11 things she did today that frustrated me, made me laugh, made me cry.
1. She has super sharp nails and scratched my eye so I look like Scar from Lion King
2. She has finally learnt to turn around and shimmy down the couch so I don't have to leap to catch her.
3. She still has her adorable scruffle crawl and I wouldn't change it
4. She loves to jump on the bed5. She is starting to learn what feeding yourself with a spoon is
6. She could possibly be left handed like her mum!! YAY!!
7. I love how some moments she looks grown up and others she looks like a sweet baby
8. I love when she looks right at me and says "mama ma mama"
9. I love it when she stands up in the middle of the floor and just starts walking around with a big smile10. I get frustrated when I change her diaper and 2 minutes later she does a big poop... its a guarantee.
11. I LOVE that she has my toes, fingers, nose and lips and that every time I look at her I see the light of Christ in her beautiful little eyes and it makes me want to be a better mother.

Hinalei 11 months old!

Okay so after 10 months of absolute dedication to blogging about Hinalei each month I find myself more towards the end of her 11 months than the start and I haven't done a thing. Something that several (ahem mum and sisters) are quite willing to point out. Nonetheless here I am finally updating about our precious little girl. Yes! She is just one month away from the BIG 1! I can't believe how time has gone so quickly and I am so grateful for every little moment with my sweet child.

Hinalei is getting better and better at walking to other people and by herself around the house. The other night she stood up, walked to the TV and turned it off. We had a good laugh about that.

Updated list of Hinalei:
* She has 6 teeth (4 top 2 bottom)
* She is drinking regular diluted milk and juice from the bottle
*SHE IS DRINKING FROM A BOTTLE (everyone in NZ will appreciate how big that is)
* She is no longer nursing at night
* She loves to pull herself up on everything
* She loves to crawl to the edge of anything and shimmy down (Aunty Jenna!!!)
* She loves to eat grown up food especially french fries, chocolate and ice cream (all things she is not allowed!!)
* She loves to watch Yo Gabba Gabba with Daddy
* She loves to sing songs with Aunty Cola
* She loves to go walkies with Aunty Jenna
* She loves to sit in mummys lap all day and watch food channel -NOT - (haha... actually I wish she would do that because I love the food channel!!!)
* She loves to unroll the toilet paper or pull the evenlopes out of the box or pull tissues out of the box or wipes!
* She loves to clap her hands and sing "If your Happy and you know it"

She is more beautiful each day and I don't take for granted one moment with her. I try to laugh went she spills the pen box for the 1000 time that day, to hold her when she wants to be held, to give her kisses whenever she will let me, to make her laugh just so I can laugh!

Future Model Pose?
"Thats Mama!"
"Hehe... I'm cheeky!"
Go! Seasiders!

Don't Look Away for a Second Mum!

Look at what Hinalei got up to in the small moment I was checking my email and putting some chicken in the oven. 5 minutes tops!!!! Good thing she likes to eat them as well!!!!

Biggest Loser Challenge

So as we all know in the New Year we make resolutions to lose weight. I have already started back in NZ and I have done okay so far although a sick daughter can definitely cause some stress eating (she is okay now) and so my sisters and I have decided to do a version of the biggest loser. We have to see who can lose the biggest weight percentage in a month and the winner gets $45 dollars (a contribution of $15 each). We have rules but mostly just want to motivate each other and have fun.

We are excited about this and I am going to keep you informed as well go along! Good luck to my sisters and anyone else out there in the same boat trying to lose weight!!!

A New Year Tradition.

So last year to bring in 2009 we had McDonald's with our friends the Prescott's and then played Monopoly until the New Year. In fact if you look back on my blog it is my first entry ever!!! I was pregnant with Hinalei and the Prescotts had just found out that they were expecting. We were both waiting to find out what parenthood would be like and introduce our little girls to each other! I can't believe that they were in Heaven only a year ago. WELL NOW A year later we kept up our tradition and had the night with the Prescott's again. No McDonald's or Monopoly but we did go for a drive out to Kahuku and Laie Point to see the fireworks and then back to TVA to watch the most awesome fireworks show on the balcony!

I love Laie Fireworks! I mean where else do you get to watch an amazing display of fireworks right outside your house while counting down to the new year! I definitely am excited for 2010! My baby girl turns 1! My sisters are both at BYUH for school! My brother is preparing for his mission! My brother in law is coming off his mission! My sister in law is getting baptized! What a wonderful year for change!

She Walks.

Yes! Hinalei is almost eleven months old and she has started taking her first steps into toddler hood. Oh! What will I do? I know I will run after her! Check out the cutest video of Hinalei walking to her papa. It is so sweet. I think it is so cute that she took her first steps on January 1st, 2010.
